Why did the Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A Average Price Rise So Quickly
The popular watch has seen a rapid rise in price across many retailers. But the data shows a clear reason for this.
At WisePricing we like to cover pricing trends for luxury products. In yesterday's newsletter we covered the variable ranges in pricing that we were seeing for the Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A which is largely being driven by retailers who are not authorized dealers.
But since we started tracking this product we have noticed that the price has been rapidly going up even in this last month. Earlier this month the average Price for the Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5167A was $49,730 and over the span of the month has steadily risen to $57,662 (see data below).

So what are driving these rising prices over the last month?
Well according to our WisePricing data it’s largely driven by authorized dealers increasing their prices to be inline with Patek Philippe’s MSRP who list it at $29,880 (see data below).
Data from WisePricing
This is where price tracking is valuable especially for brands who make luxury or ultra-luxury products, who want to ensure their distributors maintain price integrity.
Our data shows that the price increases were relatively similar across the board and reflect an increase in MSRP from Patek Philippe.
Interestingly one authorized dealer has not increased their price to reflect the price set by Patek Philippe (see below) but I imagine it’s coming soon and we will be on the lookout as to when it does.
